Independence statement
The Awaab’s Law Assurance Hub is independently published. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of the UK Government, the Regulator of Social Housing, the Housing Ombudsman, any local authority, housing association or public body.
The site links to official sources and sector material for education, commentary and implementation learning. Official legislation, statutory guidance and regulator publications remain the authoritative sources.
Why the hub exists
Official sites explain the legal framework. This hub focuses on the operational challenge: how organisations receive reports, assess risk, identify vulnerability, inspect properties, instruct work, communicate with residents, manage evidence, escalate cases and assure boards.
The hub also tracks public examples from across the sector, including damp and mould programmes, technology pilots, data-standard work, Ombudsman learning and emerging practice around environmental monitoring.
Founder and editor
The site was created by Martin Moody, a UK technology and operations leader with experience across regulated environments, digital transformation, service operations, governance, cloud, data and assurance.
Martin’s interest is the practical gap between policy and delivery: the systems, workflows, evidence, resident contact and board-level assurance needed to make legal duties work in real organisations. The founder profile is deliberately secondary to the hub’s purpose; the site is intended to support shared sector learning, not operate as a personal brand site.
Governance model
- Legal and regulatory statements should be grounded in official sources wherever possible.
- Commentary is distinguished from statutory guidance and professional advice.
- Supplier examples are labelled as market or implementation examples, not endorsements.
- Contributor and sponsor relationships should be declared where relevant.
- Corrections and source updates are welcomed.
