Accessibility built into the site
- Semantic headings, landmarks and lists support screen-reader navigation.
- A skip link appears at the top of every page.
- Core navigation, filters, forms and scoring tools are operable by keyboard.
- Focus indicators are deliberately strong and visible.
- Interactive results use live regions where appropriate.
- Layouts reflow into a single-column reading experience on smaller screens.
- The site respects reduced-motion preferences.
Display options
The Display options panel near the top of each page provides larger text, high contrast and underlined-link preferences. These controls use native disclosure and checkbox controls and save preferences in the visitor’s browser.
Testing approach
Before launch and after significant updates, the site should be checked using automated testing and manual review. Priority pages include the home page, law primer, contact form, readiness assessment, Sector Signals and IoT & Evidence pages.
- Run axe or WAVE on key page types.
- Complete keyboard-only testing across the menu, display options, filters, forms and scoring tools.
- Spot check with VoiceOver, NVDA or another screen reader.
- Confirm colour contrast after any branding or content change.
- Test zoom and reflow at 200% and on mobile widths.
Known limitations
This build is prepared for publication, but live testing is still required after upload, especially if analytics, cookie banners, embedded video, third-party forms or new documents are added.
